In our first lesson, we laid the foundation of your skincare routine: cleanse, moisturize, protect. Now, it’s time to add the next layer—the “treat” or “correct” step. This is where you target specific skin concerns like a weakened barrier, breakouts, fine lines, or hyperpigmentation. Think of this step as your routine’s “extra credit.” It’s not about adding every serum under the sun, it’s about choosing the right one for your skin’s needs. There are endless options out there, but I am going to keep it simple and give you a clear place to start. We will get into details of ingredients in another lesson!
What are serums/correctives?
Serums are concentrated formulas that deliver active ingredients deep into the skin. They tend to be potent so they should be chosen carefully and tailored to your skin’s specific needs.

Pro Tip:
One of my all-time favorite products is the Cocokind Barrier Repair Serum. It’s gentle, effective, and truly universal—any skin type can benefit from it. It helps create and maintain a healthy skin barrier, which is the most important foundation for your skin’s health. You can use it both AM + PM, and it layers beautifully with other correctives. Just remember: apply your serums from thinnest to thickest for best absorption!

A Note of Caution
More isn’t always better. Adding too many serums at once can overwhelm the skin. Start slow, with one treatment at a time, and let your skin adjust before introducing more.
How to Layer Products:
